It's a very entertaining book, and was hard for me to put down. I have Graves and Hashimoto's disease and could relate so well to this author, Carol Gray, and her long journey before and after being diagnosed with Grave's disease. *****"I recommend this book highly for anyone who has thyroid disease. Part of her story is in my current book, but I felt compelled to dedicate her entire story in another book, as something like this could happen to any one of us thyroid sufferers. My thyroid levels swing back and forth quite often, so much so, that my Endo believed I acquired Hashi’s as well, but I was never officially diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis. About that time, I received the official diagnosis of Grave’s disease and then given RAI, which put me into hypothyroidism. Right now, I’m going with 10 years but this number can change from time to time depending on my brain fog (It’s definitely somewhere around there). With my autoimmune thyroid disease, I try to stay proactive with my health, by being vigilant. If you are like me… when all is quiet with my health…for example, no wild blood level swings, no colds, no headaches or freaky maladies, sometimes the “Negative Nelly” in me wonders when the other shoe is going to drop…, because, well…we know the thyroid affects so much.
